Pics: Raghu Dixit Project | Bandra Fort (@trdp)

Crossed The Raghu Dixit Project off my list of dying-to-shoot indie bands when they played a fun set at the Bandra Fort Amphitheater this past weekend. They were the first stop in a three gig extravaganza planned for the Unconvention delegates, and sadly they were only band I could shoot - we caught the last two songs of a crazy Pentagram set at Carter Road, and watched (term used loosely, club was almost completely unlit) an excellent Swarathma performance at Zenzi Mills later that night.

Lighting was pretty staid. The bright green 'Celebrate Bandra' backdrop coupled with strong monochromatic washes made for terrible shooting. Thankfully, towards the end of the set, Senor Dixit asked for all the house lights to be turned on which helped a lot. On the bright side, the stage wasn't elevated so photogs could get really close, and there was a lot of room between the stage and the crowd. Considering the poor light, I was tempted to use the 50/1.8, but laziness prevailed and I shot all of it with the 24-70/2.8 at 1600 ISO. The highlight for me was the 7-shot pano which I posted earlier (also the last shot in this gallery). Click here to view a larger version of the pano.
